Domaine Henri Gouges is considered the pinnacle of the Nuits St. Georges appellation, with all fourteen-plus hectares of their cherished vineyards located in this singular village for nearly a century — 2019 represents the estate’s 100th vintage! Henri Gouges assembled the majority of parcels that constitute the Domaine in the 1920s, emerging as one of the pioneers of estate bottling in 1929. He then began to sell his wines in the United States immediately following the end of Prohibition. To this day, America remains Gouges’ largest export market and 25% of each vintage is sold here. Now in its fourth generation, the estate has always balanced tradition with innovation, understanding the historical significance of these terroirs while encouraging an open-mindedness about modernization.
