This is quite aromatically similar to the regular cuvée though there is notably better mid-palate density to the gorgeously textured and slightly more powerful flavors that also coat the mouth with sappy dry extract while delivering outstanding length on the mildly less austere finish. This is potentially terrific and extremely promising.

The 2021 Clos-de-la-Roche Cuvée MCMLV Grand Cru, named after the date of plantation in the lieu-dit of Mont Luisants, suffered more millerandage than the regular cuvée and therefore shows more concentration and energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, cohesive, fine depth and quite structured towards the saline finish, white pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This deserves a decade in the cellar. Two barrels produced.
