Same deep mid purple. Firm, strict, authoritarian. Here the fruit is darker, some morello cherry, good acidity, very tightly knit. There is no overt sucrosity though of course the fruit is ripe, with all the layers of flavour which the 2009 did not have at the same stage. It is never easy to pull all the detail out of the grandest crus at this early stage, but this wine will clearly deliver what we hope for.
