Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (PYCM) is one of the great domaines of Chassagne-Montrachet. Marc Colin’s eldest son, Pierre-Yves, worked at the family estate from 1994 to 2005. In 2001, alongside his wife Caroline Morey, he launched a négociant business named Colin-Morey. By 2005, Pierre-Yves left the family domaine, bringing with him his six-hectare share of vineyards, which were seamlessly integrated into the Colin-Morey label.
Pierre-Yves is renowned for his meticulous approach to winemaking, guided by a sensitivity to oxidation. He avoids bâtonnage and does not heat the cellar to encourage malolactic fermentation. The wines age in one-third new 350-liter oak barrels, resting on their lees for 18 months before being bottled and sealed with wax over the corks. The result is a portfolio of wines with exceptional freshness and energy, each one expressive of its individual terroir.
One of the crown jewels of PYCM is their Montrachet—a true unicorn. Produced only in select vintages and in minuscule quantities, it represents the pinnacle of the domaine’s offerings. We are thrilled to present a vertical of every vintage ever produced, shared in the company of Pierre-Yves’ sons, Mathis and Clément, who have now joined the family domaine.
